Together Dan and Jan started teaching sword fighting and theatrical combat skills in the late 1980's. After years of creating a method of teaching actors and stunt people to tell stories with swords they formalized their school, calling it the Academy of Theatrical Combat. In 1996 Kim joined them, and they have been working together ever since. In 2000 Lynette came to learn how to sword fight at the Academy and became fascinated by the art of shooting sword fights (and general mayhem) on film. Kim and Lynette started their own production company, Privatsky Film Works, to put together short films, and in the process became very adept at directing, shooting and editing on digital media. Between Dan, Jan, Kim and Lynette they now had the experience and equipment to put together their own series! With “Perils of the Pirate Princess” they enjoy the marvelous outlet of sending their creative, administrative and professional talents directly to their audience.
